Illya Friedman is a cinema-technology entrepreneur, producer, inventor, and interviewer whose career has focused on improving the systems behind motion-picture production. He founded Hot Rod Cameras, developed Betty Luminous Reflectors, and hosts and produces The Cinematography Podcast.
Before building companies, Friedman worked as a freelance cameraman across movies, television, commercials, and music videos. His later work has connected production technology, practical judgment, reflected-light tools, and research into stronger development and production systems for independent filmmaking.
